Woofstock! is Coming to Ghent – June 18th

Woofstock! is a relaxed version of the traditional dog show.  The day-long event (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) benefitting Columbia County Habitat for Humanity, Woofstock! will take place at Black Raven Farm on June 18 and welcomes all dogs, dog lovers and Habitat for Humanity supporters. There will be a dog parade, a 1K run for dogs and their owners, mellow versions of traditional games and much more.

The events will be slightly competitive and judged by a distinguished panel of Columbia County dog lovers.  From noon to 3:00 p.m. will be gently competitive events; including cutest puppy, dog/owner lookalike, best trick, oldest dog, best bark, waggiest tail and much more!  Ribbons will be given to first, second and third places and every dog that competes will receive an official Woofstock!  Wag Bag, packed will toys and treats for the dogs.

Throughout the day there will other events, including a silent auction, adoption booth, paw printing, raffle, agility demo, photos, canine karaoke and a biscuit booth.  There will be vendors selling dog related merchandise, Woofstock! shirts and hats and food will be available for purchase.

Tickets will be $40 per person and $70 for a couple, to make your reservation call weekdays 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 518-828-0892.  All proceeds are to benefit Habitat’s affordable housing construction programs.

For everyone’s safety and protection we ask that all attending dogs are spayed or neutered and on a leash at all times.

Vice President of Habitat for Humanity, Peter Cervi, is the event’s chairman and retired owner of Camp Canine, a full service doggie daycare, training, grooming and hotel business located in Manhattan.

Peter, who had the idea to create a different kind of dog show to benefit Habitat and said, ”Woofstock! is all about having fun, whichever end of the leash you’re on. There will be lots happening throughout the day, and we’ll be doing good for Habitat, too.”
