October 8, 2020 COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. The CCDOH is reporting that, since yesterday, there have been three new cases of COVID-19, but comparing the number of active cases and the total number of cases reported today with what was reported yesterday reveals that there are actually four new cases. There are now two people hospitalized with the virus, and one in the ICU. There are twenty-two more county residents in mandatory quarantine today than there were yesterday, and one more in precautionary quarantine. It has now been 121 consecutive days since there has been a death from COVID-19 in Columbia County.

With four positives out of 366 test results received, the positive percentage rate for today is 1 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to calculations, is 0.9 percent–that is, 19 positives out of 1,978 test results received.
