Chairman’s press release

DMV, COUNTY CLERK, REAL PROPERTY TO REOPEN FRIDAY

The Columbia County Clerk’s office, the County Department of Motor Vehicles, and County Real Property Tax Services are safe and set to reopen Friday, March 19, at 9 a.m.

The offices, located at 560 Warren Street, Hudson, were closed March 9 after a COVID-19 outbreak in the effort to reduce a further spread of the virus. At the time, the outbreak presented characteristics of the UK variant, but subsequent testing by a state laboratory determined that to not be the case.

“I would like to thank County Clerk Holly Tanner and Real Property Director Suzette Booy for their hard work guiding their offices through a tremendously difficult time, I am pleased that these departments will again be able to provide their needed services to the public.” Board of Supervisors Chairman Matt Murell said today.

“I am thrilled that all staff impacted are recovered and will be back at work, stated Tanner, “this was not an easy situation for any of us, but I am proud of the efforts my entire staff have made during this entire year to provide needed services to our customers, safely, let alone during this shutdown. I would like to thank our customers and the public for the tremendous outpouring of support, it is appreciated,” she said.

The Columbia County Health Department continues to administer COVID-19 vaccinations at Columbia Greene Community College, please go to the Columbia County Health Department web site for available appointments.

Chairman Murell added that this episode serves as yet another reminder that everyone must continue to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and frequently wash their hands. “Clearly, we are not yet out of the woods with this virus,” he said.
