Annual Brush Burn Ban: March 16 – May 14

From March 16 through May 14, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC)’s ban on residential brush burning will be in effect statewide.  This is because of New York’s historically high fire risk during this time period.

Residents are reminded that at any other time, if you plan to burn brush you should call the 911 non-emergency number: 518-828-4114 to alert them of a controlled burn.

Burns must be conducted consistent with DEC rules.
