Roeliff Jansen Community Library’s Annual Gala will held across the street at the Harvest Barn at Roeliff Jansen Park from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. on June 18.  There will be food from local restaurants and chefs, wine and tastings of local vodka and bourbon. Music will be a mix of jazz, funk, R&B and blues preformed by the BTUs.

A live and silent auction will take place, with items such as beauty treatments, cooking classes, wine, lunch with Mark Bittman, tickets to Aladdin. The auction committee is still adding items.

This year the Gala will honor Pat and Jack Shakshober who live in Boston Corners and continually support the Roe Jan area, making it a better place to live. The Shakshobers own Undermountain Golf Course and have hosted over 140 benefit golf tournaments, raising large amounts of money for many local organizations from the Ancram Fire Department to the library.

Pat was a former librarian at Taconic Hills and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the library.
