Safe At Home – Successfully Aging At Home Presentation at the June 13th Town Board Meeting-6:30 PM
Joyce Thompson, President of the Advisory Council to the Columbia County Office for the Aging will present ideas and a framework of services any and all of us will need when, in our aging process, we cannot drive (short-term or long-term) and it becomes a challenge to live safely in our rural homes.
We all enjoy living in the country and we cherish our independence. That’s a big reason that we are here! Joyce will share a personal perspective of just what are the things we can do to prepare for staying in our homes with limited mobility. What services are available now? And from the Town’s perspective, what can it do to promote other services that support successful and safe living in our homes.
The Safe At Home framework developed by the Advisory Council’s Safe At Home sub-committee is a good resource for proactive planning!
