Dear Gallatin Resident, 

 The Town of Gallatin and the Gallatin Climate Smart Communities Taskforce have been conducting a campaign to promote community solar initiatives to our residents.  Solstice Community Solar has conducted promotions in Gallatin in the past, and is doing so again.  There are openings in solar fields that will come online each month for the next few months, and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to save money on your electric bills.  During this enrollment campaign, Gallatin residents who sign up for Solstice will receive a $50 sign-on bonus, and the town will receive a matching donation of $50 as well.  

  In this most current campaign, twelve Gallatin residents have already signed up, and there are another eleven in the enrollment process.  If you are interested in community solar, please sign up soon before solar field capacity runs out. 

  What is community solar?  

Unlike traditional rooftop solar, community solar is free to join, you do not need to put any solar panels on your property, and both owners and renters are able to participate. You sign up for a portion of a shared solar farm in NY and switch to solar that way. As our solar farm produces electricity, you will see reductions on your electricity bills.

1. You get your same utility bill as always, just with up to 10% savings each month  

2. No need to install solar panels on your home  

3. No cost to join, no fee to cancel  

 Who is eligible? 

Renters and homeowners are eligible. 

National Grid and Central Hudson utility users are eligible. 

People who have ROOFTOP OR GROUND-MOUNT SOLAR PANELS on their properties already are NOT eligible
