Town Update from Gallatin Supervisor Reilly

Following the closure of the Columbia County offices and many other neighboring Towns offices; the Town of Gallatin Town Hall is now closed to the public until at least April 6, 2020. This is to protect the staff working in the Town Hall as well as the residents of Gallatin. If you have an urgent matter, please call or email the Town Clerk 518-398-7519, [email protected]   The Town can handle the vast majority of Town business by phone, email and internet; including tax bills, certificates, licenses  and other resident matters.  The Town staff will still be working normal hours. The Town Court remains closed. The Town building inspector can still conduct inspections as long as they are arranged in a safe manner. Please contact Jake Exline’s office by phone or email to arrange 518-398-7571, [email protected].  Any Town Board special meetings and monthly meetings will be conducted digitally until the stay in place order is lifted. The transcription of the digital meetings will be posted on the Town website and made available in hard copy at the Town Hall when it is reopened. This is in compliance  with the newly amended “Open Meetings” laws.
The Town of Gallatin is collecting non-perishable foodstuffs and paper goods at the Gallatin Town Hall Monday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-12pm. Lisa DeLeeuw and Valerie Reilly will supervise the Town Hall drop offs in compliance with safe public distancing, disinfect boxes and goods as needed and will distribute directly to Gallatin Residents as their needs arise during the coming weeks. They will also work in conjunction with the Elizaville Food Pantry. Thank You to all who are already dropping off goods. If you need anything, stop over at Town hall during those hours or email or call the Town Clerk and we will arrange delivery to your doorstep of what we can offer. We are currently building the Town supply to be able to meet resident needs in the coming weeks.
Thank you all and stay safe and healthy.
